How to say one tooth or two teeth in Chinese
The measure word for teeth, otherwise known as a classifier, is the character
- One tooth:
一 颗 牙 齿 (yī kē yáchǐ) - Two teeth:
两 颗 牙 齿 (liǎng kē yáchǐ)
As you may know, in Chinese you do not modify the worth when talking about one tooth or multiple teeth, in both cases it is

Types of Teeth in Chinese

incisors, your very front teeth are
门 齿 in Chinese and pronounced ménchǐ, literally “doorway – teeth” -
canines, the teeth on either side of your incisors are
犬 齿 in Chinese and pronounced quǎnchǐ, literally “canine – teeth” -
molars are your very back large teeth and are
臼 齿 in Chinese and pronounced jiùchǐ, literally “mortar – teeth” -
premolars are the teeth between your canines and molars and are
前 臼 齿 in Chinese and pronounced qián jiùchǐ, literally “infront – molars”
