What does 一整天 (yī zhěng tiān) mean?

zhěngtiān means:

  • all day long
  • all day
  • whole day long

zhěng means “whole” or “entire”, while tiān means day, so put together zhěngtiān means “all day” or “entire day”. By itself means “one”, so by appending this to zhěngtiān is to say “one entire day” zhěngtiān, as opposed to “all day” or “entire day” zhěngtiān.
