How to say Small, Medium and Large clothes sizes in Chinese

To say Chinese clothes sizes, simply state the size and add 号hào (hào). For example 1122号hào is size 12. For small, medium and large sizes simply uses the 小xiǎo (small), 中zhōng or 大dà characters followed by 号hào.

This is how to pronounce small, medium and large in Chinese:

  • 小xiǎo (xiǎo) Small
  • 中zhōng (zhōng) Medium
  • 大dà (dà) Large
  • 特tè (tè) Extra

These are a list of sizes, either 号 (hào), meaning “number”, or 等 (děng), meaning “grade” or “class”, can be used to indicate you are talking about a size

How to say numerical clothes sizes in Chinese

Numerical clothes sizes in Chinese are pronounced by simply adding 号(hào) or 等 (děng) after the size number, thus for example size 12 is simply 12号:
